connecting with your inner child through doll-making

WORKSHOP

connecting with your Inner child through doll-making

Explore your inner child's wants and needs through creative practice. Artist Jorja Rose will lead a brief exercise to identify sources of delight for our inner children before introducing participants to a few simple doll-making methods (though incorporating your own is always welcome!). Participants will select from a wide variety of materials before settling in to create.

Participants may choose to craft quietly and meditatively or share reflections on who they were as children and how those qualities manifest in their lives today. We will end with a group discussion about how this experience felt, what was unearthed, and any takeaways or practices we want to implement in our daily lives. Come ready to play and connect with a childlike sense of joy!

Ticket price: $40

About the Facilitator

Jorja Rose (she/her) is a licensed art therapist and DC-based artist. By day, she works at a DCPS elementary school, providing clinical services to students and families. In her free time, you can find her at District Clay on the pottery wheel, stitchin' and bitchin' with friends, and, often, making weird little dolls. Please note: ethically Jorja must state she is facilitating this workshop as an artist, NOT an art therapist!
