natural pigments: how to make watercolors from the world around us

Ever wonder what's in your art materials? Stop worrying about what you are pouring down your drain and learn about the pigments we pass every day in nature. This workshop will be for those new to natural pigments. Participants will learn about examples of natural materials that produce pigment, how to turn them into watercolor paint, and will go home with some natural paint to use.

Abby Kiesa (she/her) is a watercolor painter, natural pigment maker, and longtime resident of Prince George’s County, MD. Abby tries to leverage artistic efforts to both enjoy the world and change it at the same time.
