hi fRiends,

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re opening a brick-and-mortar neighborhood space to drop in, hang out, and make art called:

You can find us in the old Past Tense yoga space above Mount Pleasant Pharmacy in Mount Pleasant, D.C. We’re opening in April!

This has been a long-held dream for all of us, and a lot of synchronicities lined up to make this the perfect collaboration. (We’ll share more on that very soon!)

In case you don’t know each of us, here’s a little about us:

Ray

I’m a collage artist, workshop facilitator,
and designer who left a long journalism career to build a more aligned creative life. (Working on it! I’m not even a year out of this massive career shift).

After almost 13 years in DC, Living Room feels like a home for all the things I care about most: art, community, and a place to show up as we are right now.

I’m a creative architect, landscape architect, and jewelry designer, best known as the co-creatrix of Femme Fatale DC.

My work centers on creating spaces, both physical and creative, where people can explore, express, and experiment with who they are.

Living Room feels like an exhale. A space rooted in presence, not performance.

I work at the intersection of placemaking and entrepreneurship, creating spaces that support creative work and real economic opportunity.

My focus is on shaping environments where ideas can grow into sustainable ventures, and community can turn into momentum.

Living Room reflects my belief that shared spaces can be built to influence how people connect, collaborate, and create value.

  • Donate something from your living room to ours. Check out our moodboard, so you can get an idea of the ~vibe~. While we have a specific aesthetic in mind, we are open to what you might have to offer. Text or email whoever you know best to see if it could be a fit.

  • Help fill the Living Room from wherever you are. This is a nontraditional but meaningful milestone for us. If it feels right, contributions through the registry help support the launch. (Yes, we hacked a wedding registry site to work for this!)

  • Send support directly. You can find our Venmo & PayPal links below:

  • Follow along on Instagram. We’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks!

As we bring this dream to life, we’d love to invite support from our nearest and dearest, only if it feels aligned for you. No pressure, your support in any form means the world!

  • Be part of the build. We’re opening up volunteer and work-trade opportunities for friends and family who want to contribute their time in exchange for access to the space. Help might include help with the space before launch, events, setup and cleanup, greeting folks, supporting workshops, or other projects we dream up together. If that resonates, email us and we’ll follow up to chat through details.

  • Spread the word. Tell your friends, neighbors, roommates, dates, enemies, or whoever you think might love the space. Or better yet, sign up for our mailing list at the bottom of this page and pass it along.

  • Come be with us in April. We’ll be opening the weekend of April 3, with events, workshops & community gatherings rolling out throughout the month. Check them out.

  • Send us a note. Encouraging and supportive emails are always welcome and deeply appreciated (& will help keep us going when we need it most!)

We love you,

We’re gonna be hard at work until we launch & we can’t wait for what happens next!
