Sabbath

GATHERING:

sabbath

Pause, rest & reflect during Sabbath at Living Room.

This is your time to shine a candlelight on your mind, body, and soul. Take a break with us and pour some love back into your soul by intentionally disconnecting from the strains of daily life and connecting with yourself and the community.

Join us for a small, delicious, intimate community potluck meal. Break bread together and take a break from the fast-paced world of social media, life's obligations, and work.

As a guest, you are invited to:

  • Leave your worries at the door and bring thoughts and ideas to safely and intimately share with others. No pressure! Just focus on your own mental health's pleasure.

  • Share your flavors at a community potluck meal (we will provide bites and beverages too). Please label your dish with its ingredients and/or be prepared to note allergens.

  • Participate in our meditative rock painting. Bring a rock (or choose one from our selection, which we will provide). We see a rock as a permanent symbol of resistance, persistence, and stillness. We hope you take it with you and use it as a daily visual reminder to breathe and experience Sabbath whenever you need to.

Price: $20 (We’re reserving two free tickets for those with financial barriers to joining us. Email us at hello@livingroom-dc.com if you’re interested in one of the tickets).

About your hosts

  • Adriana’s work centers on creating spaces, both physical and creative, where people can explore, express, and experiment with who they are. She sees Living Room and this event as an exhale, a space rooted in presence.

  • Ray has been creating spaces to connect with herself and others, first through collage in her own living room and now with a broader creative community through Living Room. She’s especially interested in creating opportunities for rest and reflection as she navigates being a first-time business owner.

  • Carolyn grew up feeling otherly and, with awe and wonder, discovered that creating community helped her feel like part of it. She feels a sense of belonging through creating spaces centered around social sustainability, thrifting, awe, and authentic conversation.

  • Gabby thrives in community spaces, driven by the belief that collective strength begins at the individual level. She believes communities are at their strongest when individuals are their healthiest selves—not just physically, but through creative expression and intentional connection.
