Intro to figure drawing

Ever wanted to attend a figure drawing session but felt too nervous to take the leap? Worried you don't know how to begin drawing a human or how a figure drawing session even works? 

Join artist and instructor Julia and art model Babs for Intro to Figure Drawing! We'll be drawing Babs as they hold short poses progressing from 30 seconds to 15 minutes.

We'll start with a brief introduction and a few quick demos, then get ready to draw, draw, draw! We'll provide basic drawing supplies, but feel free to bring your own materials. While it's geared toward beginners, people of all levels are welcome! Note: Babs will be nude.

About your facilitators

Babs New (They/Them) has been a professional art model for almost ten years and a cartoonist for even longer. They love to draw and to be drawn.

Julia Licholai (She/Her) attended her first figure drawing event in 2010 and has been drawing and painting figures ever since. She enjoys painting portraits and drawing Babs.
