WORKSHOP
painting your pets
Learn how to make a portrait of your cat/dog/other cutie with watercolor. Don’t worry about being precise, the sillier the painting, the cuter they are! Together, we’ll let loose with some drawing and painting warm-ups, make some colorful collaborative paintings with your fellow classmates, and get started on your own duochromatic pet portrait. All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own watercolor and drawing materials.
Price: $40

Annie Yi is a writer at the National Gallery of Art and a painter who works in watercolor and mixed media. She has taught a range of creative workshops, from shadow painting and zine making to watercolor pet portraits and slow looking at art. What unites these experiences is a delight in beauty and sensory pleasure, the unexpected accidents that emerge in the creative process, and the way creativity connects us to each other.
